Gerald C. Newcombe
A graduate of the University of Vermont,
Gerry secured his Chartered Life Underwriter designation
in September of 1975 and the Chartered Financial Consultant
degree in 1984 from the American College at Bryn Mawr
Pennsylvania. There have been continuous courses relating
to investments, business management and taxation since.
He is a graduate of the 63rd Agency Offices School
and Stonehill College Management Program.
In the 80s he became a Registered Investment
Advisor Representative and obtained a New Hampshire
Insurance Consulting license, allowing him to consult
in these areas. For years there was participation
in the International Association for Financial Planning
or IAFP as it was commonly known.
Other professional associations included
the Association of Life Underwriters of which he served
as President and the State Board of Directors as well
as President and New England Director of the Life
Insurance Management Association commonly called LIMA.
During these years the greatest interest
and activity was consulting in Farm and Business Planning
for the transfer of business to another generation
or owner. A lifetime of interest in stocks and equities
commenced while waiting for overseas discharge at
Governor's Island - almost at the foot of Wall Street
for a five month period with no strict military duties.
This has always been at the core of professional work
information.
Community contributions were centered
around the local Congregational Church leading to
terms as Deacon and the Concord Rotary Club.
