J. Kelly Thomas, CPA/PFS, CFP®
Kelly founded Thomas Financial Associates in 1999
and presently serves as the firm's Senior Wealth Advisor.
He is responsible for all facets of the firm's wealth
management process ensuring that all clients receive
timely, open and honest communication, relevant education
and seamless proactive service that consistently exceeds
their expectations. Kelly has over 20 years of experience
in helping high net worth individuals and families grow,
protect, enjoy and transfer wealth.
Prior to founding Thomas Financial Associates, Kelly
formed J. Kelly Thomas, CPA, P.C. in 1993, a CPA firm
providing high quality tax and accounting services in
the Central Massachusetts area. Previously, he served
as a Senior Tax Manager with KPMG, providing financial
planning, tax, retirement and estate planning services
to that firms' high net worth individuals, middle market
and start-up companies. Kelly gained additional experience
as a Senior Tax Consultant for Dresser Industries, a
Fortune 100 multinational manufacturer and oil field
services company.
Kelly earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting
from Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio and is a
licensed Certified Public Accountant in both Massachusetts
and Texas. He is a member of both the Massachusetts
Society of CPA's, serving on their Personal Financial
Planning committee, and the American Institute of CPA's,
where he serves on their Tax Committee. Kelly earned
his Certified Financial Planner license in November
of 1999 and is a member of the Financial Planning Association
of Massachusetts. Kelly's securities licensing includes
the Series 7, 65 and 63 in addition to his insurance
license.
He is Charter President of the Westborough Lions Club,
a former member of the Board of Directors and Campaign
Cabinet of the Tri-County United Way and served on the
Committee of Management of the Boroughs Branch of the
YMCA.
Kelly and his wife, Judith, share a home in Westborough,
MA with their four active college-aged children. Kelly
is an avid sports fan and enjoys backpacking with his
children and golf.
